The StarTech network cable is a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable, ideal for most environments without much electromagnetic interference. Shielded cables are only required in specific industrial situations. Due to the improved electrical properties of our cables, shielding is often unnecessary and can even be detrimental if installed incorrectly.
