The UniFi Protect G4 Instant is a compact, versatile security camera designed for use with the UniFi Protect platform. Its lightweight, weatherproof design makes it ideal for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Design and Construction
The G4 Instant is made of durable polycarbonate and offers IPX5 protection against rain and dust, with an impact resistance of IK04. Weighing just 125g (163g with the mount) and measuring 81.6 x 50 x 47.2mm, the camera is easy to mount with the included wall mount.
Optics and Image Quality
The camera features a 5 MP CMOS sensor and a fixed 2.8 mm lens (f/1.6) that delivers sharp images with a resolution of 2688 x 1512 pixels at 30 FPS. With a 120.6° diagonal field of view, the G4 Instant offers a wide view. Night vision is supported by built-in IR LED illuminators and an IR cut filter for clear images in the dark. Image settings such as brightness, contrast, white balance, and noise reduction (2DNR, 3DNR) are fully customizable.
Performance and System
The G4 Instant is powered by a dual-core Arm Cortex-A7 processor with 2GB of DDR3 memory. The camera connects via 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and supports Bluetooth for easy setup. Power consumption is a maximum of 6W, powered by the included 5V, 2A USB adapter.
Audio and Software
For two-way communication, the camera is equipped with a built-in microphone and speaker, which can be disabled via the UniFi Protect interface. The G4 Instant works seamlessly with UniFi OS and the UniFi Protect app for iOS and Android, making management and live monitoring easy.
Certifications and Environment
The camera is certified to FCC, IC and CE standards and functions reliably within a temperature range of -20 to 40°C and humidity up to 90% (non-condensing).
