The Ajax ReX 2 is a radio signal range extender and an essential part of the Ajax alarm system. Ajax is a leading security brand, known for advanced technology and innovative products that give homeowners and businesses a reliable, effective security system. With simple installation and user-friendly operation, Ajax gives you the peace of mind you deserve.
With the free Ajax app you can easily communicate with the hub, to which up to fifty users and one hundred devices can be connected. Receive notifications of alarms and events, view live video streams (if cameras are integrated) and check the status of all your security devices. The app provides detailed information and is easy to manage across multiple devices and users.
The ReX 2 boosts the signal and so extends the protected area. This indoor wireless range extender can considerably increase the coverage of the hub, much like a Wi-Fi extender in a home. With five ReX 2 range extenders, the protected area can be extended to as much as thirty-five square kilometres, ideal for large buildings such as car parks and factories. The ReX 2 must be installed within 1700 metres of the hub (line of sight).
The ReX 2 communicates with a large part of the Ajax range at distances of up to 1800 metres. Alarm messages are delivered without delay, with a response time of just 0.3 seconds. The device has a powerful processor and can run for up to 38 hours on its backup battery during a power cut. Thanks to the OS Malevich software, the ReX 2 is well protected against software and hardware attacks, viruses and exploits. If the enclosure is tampered with, a signal is immediately sent to the hub.
A major advantage of the ReX 2 is its compatibility with MotionCam, MotionCam PhOD and MotionCam Outdoor. Photos are delivered within twenty seconds, depending on the hub's settings and internet connection. The Photo on Demand function can cause a delay of up to three seconds. In addition to the radio signal, the ReX 2 also works over an Ethernet connection, ideal for buildings with thick walls or underground spaces.
The ReX 2 can be powered by an Ajax 6V PSU, an Ajax 12V-24V PSU or a 110–240 V mains connection. It is supplied with a power cable and a mounting panel for an optional bracket, which you can add in the options on this page. See the datasheet in the Documentation tab for further specifications.
