An access controller is the brain of every professional access system. It decides who gets access, when, and by which method, to a door, gate, fence or cabinet. At UMATECH you'll find standalone controllers for a single door as well as network controllers for larger installations with dozens of access points.

Choose from:

  • Standalone controllers: compact, often with integrated RFID reader and relay. Ideal for B&Bs, small businesses or garages.
  • Network controllers: IP-based, with cloud management, logging and multiple door channels. Perfect for apartments, offices and multi-site locations.
  • PoE controllers: just one network cable for power and data.
  • DIN rail models for a tidy installation in a control cabinet or comms room.

Our controllers support:

  • RFID/NFC, PIN code, QR and biometrics
  • Wiegand, RS485, TCP/IP
  • Time zones, user groups, logs and anti-passback
  • Access logs with export to Excel or the cloud

Prefer to manage everything remotely? Choose a model with an app or web interface. Grant temporary access, remove users or set time windows – without being on site.

Choosing the right access controller

An access controller is the core of your access system, linking readers, locks and software. For one door, a compact single-door controller is enough. For a larger building, scale up to a multi-door system with up to 8 door channels. Combine the controller with the right RFID/NFC readers and electric locks.

Want central management over the network? Choose an IP controller for cloud management, logging and per-user rights. It works with keypads, biometric readers and tags and cards, so you can build a complete system.

Combine effortlessly with our locks, readers and sensors. Order before 17:00 and, if in stock, we ship the same day – full control over who comes in, and when, from tomorrow.

Frequently asked questions about access controllers

What exactly does an access controller do?

It decides who gets access to a door or gate, when and how. It reads the reader, checks the rights and drives the lock – from a single door to a network with dozens of access points.

Standalone or network controller?

A standalone controller manages one door on its own. A network controller links several doors over IP into one system with cloud management and logging. For a few doors standalone is fine; for a larger building a network solution is more convenient.

Do I need separate parts or a complete kit?

For a quick start, an access control kit is handy: reader, controller and accessories in one. For a custom system, choose the parts separately. Both work with our readers, locks and software.

Can I manage access control remotely?

Yes. With an IP controller you manage access via the cloud: open doors, set rights and view logs from your computer or phone – handy for multiple sites or when you're not always on site.

Is access control with a controller suitable for the home?

Certainly. With a standalone controller and a reader you give family members or a cleaner access without keys, and a lost tag is blocked immediately.

What do I combine an access controller with?

Readers, keypads, biometric readers and electric locks. Choose components that use the same protocol, such as Wiegand or RS485, so everything works together straight away.
