The Hikvision DS-KD-M is a card reader module for Hikvision's modular video intercom system. You combine it with other modules into a door station, so residents and staff can open the door with a MIFARE card (13.56 MHz). The module is suitable for outdoor use with an IP65 protection rating, operates from -40 °C to +55 °C and consumes a maximum of 2 W.
The DS-KD-M has a built-in card reader with an embedded MCU processor and, besides opening the door by card, also supports issuing new cards. One input and one output connect the module to the other modules of the door station. The 12 V DC power is supplied by the previous module and passed on to the next, so no separate power supply is needed. The module is configured with 8 DIP switches. It can be flush-mounted or surface-mounted and is compatible with, among others, the modular DS-KD8003-IME1 door station and other Hikvision video intercom modules.
